Our Busy (but fun) Week!

Today is the first day that Jeff and I have been home this week, and it is nice. This past week, other than work, we have had something every night.

On Monday nights I joined a Bible Study at church. I am the youngest person there by about 20 years, but I have been learning and growing so much, it has been great. The book we are reading is Calm My Anxious Heart, by Linda Dillow. I would recommend it to everyone.

On Tuesday night I accompanied Jeff to MIT where he works for a professor there once a month. This particular Forum meeting was with Sherri Turkle, an MIT professor who is a psychologist who studies human interaction with robots. She discussed how children and adults are overwhelmed with technology and are tired of not having human relationships. I really enjoyed the discussions and it was great to see what Jeff has been doing this past year (it was my first trip accompanying him).

Wednesday and Thursday were nights dealing with work, so not too much excitement!

Friday night, Jeff and I saw James Franco...we would like to say we met him, but I didn't want to act like the college girls who hung on him and when he looked at me, I believe I made a noise like a sheep because I did not know what to say! James Franco produced and acted in a movie based on a book that Jeff's professor wrote about the poet Hart Crane. Through Jeff's professor we had special guest seats, James Franco sat directly across the aisle from us during the screening, a Q&A afterwards, and then a private social with shrimp, lobster, crab cakes, and our favorite rizzoto and asparagus puffs! Needless to say we had many opportunities to talk with him, but he was so laid back he just seemed like a friend, so we felt a little odd swarming at him!

On Saturday, we watched a 3 1/2 hour movie on the Idaho State Legislature produced, written, and directed by Fredrick Wiseman. He has made many documentaries for PBS and other places, and is highly respected in his field. He was there for a Question and Answer time before he flew to Paris to complete his filming of a night club there.

Overall, it was a great week, just busy with many things! Tomorrow is the Boston Marathon by our house so our streets will be busy!

May you have a blessed Holy Week!
