Movie Weekend.

This spring, I am doing a study of Thomas Merton, a Trappist monk. In preparation for this study, I have been reading various books about monasticism, the trappist/cistercian order, and life as a monk. One book that I read addressed our need to not "waste time"--to always be productive. The author said that maybe we should waste time--at least once in a while. Who knows, maybe wasting time could be productive? So, this week, Beth and I watched movies, took naps, baked a cake, bought a 12 pack of root beer (and drank 3 of them), and ate pizza.

On Saturday, we watched the original King Kong. On Sunday, we watched Brigadoon (well, Beth watched it, and I fell asleep), Bring it on: all or nothing, and School of Rock. What a great weekend!

Maybe next weekend we can watch Brigadoon and I will sleep and you can watch it! It was a great "wasted" weekend!
