I haven't been afraid of weather until I lived in Iowa. Without many large buildings to muffle the sound of thunder or to trap the rush of wind, every noise seems to be enhanced. Yesterday, while I was at work, the sky suddenly turned dark almost as if it were dusk. Suddenly the clouds burst open and we received about an inch of rain in about half an hour. I took this picture last night.
